So, I went back to the doctor today. She took the packing out of my wound and said it looks great. She put some tape stuff on it to close it up (instead of stitches) and said she wants to see me back in two weeks for another checkup. So, I'm hopeful that this thing is finally healing. It feels much better already! I can even hold Belle on that side again. :)
Oh, we have been sending Belle to daycare still this week, even though I've been home. She is doing so great at daycare. She is so happy and they just love her there! Yesterday, I slept most of the day while she was gone and today I had an eye doctor appointment in the afternoon that I had to go to. So, that reminds me... I went to the eye doctor a few weeks ago for a general exam and to get new glasses and I got this scan done of the inside of my eye. Well, they found something in there that they said could just be something like a freckle or could be a tumor, so they sent me to a specialist, which is where I had to go today... So, turns out, the doc thinks that it's just a spot inside there that isn't pigmented (I really don't know what that has to do with anything) but she said it could have been there since I was born or I could have had an eye infection or something as a kid that could have caused it. Anyway, she says it's nothing to worry about, but she took some pictures of the inside of my eye and wants to see me back in a year to make sure that it isn't growing or anything... see, I don't really know what the heck is going on here... Healthy as can be until I have a baby and all of a sudden, my body is going to the crapper... I thought you weren't supposed to start falling apart until you hit the big 4-0??? What's up with that?? Anyway, tomorrow, I am going to send my sweetie to daycare and do some serious cleaning of the house and run some errands so I don't have to do it on the weekend and tote her around in the car all day (she doesn't particularly like being in the car) and then our happy little family can just spend the weekend at home together! :) Sounds like a good time to me! :)

ouch ouch ouch
soooooooo..... remember that sore boob??? yeah... well, the antibiotics weren't helping at all, so i called the doctor back yesterday and they got me in today and i went in today and turns out, this clogged milk duct has become an abscess and doc sent me to ER to get it drained... let me tell you one thing... needles, knives, scissors, gauze, etc in your boob = NOT FUN!!!!! And on that note, i can't breastfeed on that side for 4 days and am off work for the next 3 days... ugh... a week and two days back and i'm off for 3 more... normally i would say "awesome! no work!" but since i now have an infant and will likely have to take a lot of time off for her when she's sick and stuff, taking 3 of my 5 sick days for the year right away is kind of a bad thing... but let's just hope it all works out somehow. anyway, so i'm sort of in pain right now... i have this open wound with some stuff packed in it to help it keep draining and i have to go back to the doctor thursday to see if it's ready to have the packing taken out and we'll go from there... i'll keep you posted!
gosh - i can honestly say, pre-baby, i would never have shared this information with people... post-baby, i really don't care who knows what anymore!!! funny how not private things are after babies!!!!
anyway, i'm going to get some rest... night.

what a week
well, quick post here... we've had a busy week. i went back to work this week which was probably one of the hardest things i've ever had to do, but luckily, belle stayed with grandma the first day and half of the second day (more explanation later) so it made it much easier for me. i only cried on the way to work on monday and as soon as i got there, i was pulled into meetings for half the day, then loaded up with work so i didn't have time to think too much about missing my baby, which was a good thing or i would have been a complete wreck. tuesday went smoothly, wednesday, i about had a meltdown mid-day, thursday was good... the hardest part is getting home with her so late in the evening and only having and hour or two with her before she goes to bed (and really, she falls asleep as soon as she's back in mommy's arms, so i don't get much awake time, but i hold her until it's time for bed). we are still working on getting our routine down and once we do, we'll be getting home earlier (the goal is to be to work by 7 so we can leave by 3:30 or 4 and home by 4 or 4:30... so far, we've been getting to work about 8 or 8:15 and home by about 5:30ish... so, we have some work to do, which means i need to go to bed 11 minutes ago!
on the up side of things (and i know i said i wouldn't talk about sleeping habits anymore, but this is big news!) belle slept through the night for the first time last night!!! she was zonked out at 7:30 and i had to wake her up at 6:30 this morning. she is doing great at daycare. they love her and she talks to everyone all the time (nick says she has grandma's gift of gab...) she has caught her first cold from daycare after a whole day and a half... she was a bit stuffy last night and quite stuffy today, so we keep sucking all the snot out and trying to keep her comfy...
bad side of things, i have an infection in my breast from a clogged milk duct (i know - too much information for most of you, but who cares??) so i am now on some antibiotics to hopefully get rid of the huge lump and redness and soreness that goes along with an infection... i'll bet most of you didn't even know you could get an infection in your breast, did you??? that's right... boob infection! ha!
well, we were doing okay the beginning of the week with gloria here. she's a machine and got clothes folded and dishes done and dinner made all while watching belle during the day, which, i have to say, is more that i was ever able to accomplish during the day!!! we need her back!!!
well, anyway, i'm off to bed so i can get up at 5:30 tomorrow... yuck. thank god it's going to be friday!!! :)
and i will leave you with a couple new pictures...

New Experience
So, first of all, I would like to start by saying, I am never going to be telling people about my child's sleeping habits again!!!! I swear every time I say something letting people know that she's doing well, she makes my life a living hell for the next 3 nights!!! That child has been up every 2.5 - 3 hours for the last two nights. I am absolutely exhausted because I'm trying to get up early and not sleep during the day so I can get prepared a little for going back to work next week. Tonight, I am going to be directly after (or perhaps before) the biggest loser is over!
Anyway, we had a new experience today... It was really nice out again, so I decided to try my hand at taking Belle, Jake and Elwood for a walk - by myself... It must have been quite a site!! But amazingly enough, it wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. Once I finally got Elwood to heal, everything went really smoothly because Jake will just walk right beside Elwood (he's such a good little guy). So, once they were both walking beside me on one side, I was able to push the stroller with one hand and hold them with the other hand - and talk on the phone on top of that!!! Ha! (okay, hands free phone, but I wasn't made with 3 hands, so there!) The hardest part was actually getting out the door... Do I take the dogs out first and tie them to a pole or something while I get Belle out and risk them getting off and running away? Or biting someone walking by?? Or do I take Belle out first, get her in the stroller and leave her out there alone while I get the dogs out? Well, I didn't like either option, so I had to finaggle a way to get them all out the door at once... It took us about 3 or 4 minutes to actually get out the door, but we did it. I hope it's nice out again tomorrow and we'll do it again and try to make a habit of it so that I can keep this weight off. :)
Well, tomorrow I get to go to the eye doctor and get some new glasses ordered. I can't wait! :) I've been wanting a new pair of glasses for quite some time so I'm so excited about this! And then Thursday, we get to go get our taxes done and hopefully will get some money back and work on paying off some more debt! :) I can't wait!!!
Sorry, no new pictures for you today. Maybe next time! :)

Sick
So, yesterday I was so sick... I don't know what the deal was, but both Belle and I slept all day. I mean, all day. I think I was up for a total of 4 hours and Belle was up a little longer than that cause she was up with Nick while I slept a little and took a shower (although this is what I found when I got out of the shower...)So, anyway, I'm feeling better today. Still a bit on the sleepy side, but at least my entire body isn't aching and I'm not freezing my butt off... Belle seemed to be doing much better today too. She was up her normal amount, or maybe a little more because she only slept about 20 minutes of her usual 1-2 hour afternoon nap. Well, it was really warm out today, so we had the windows open and it was still 78 degrees in here... so, our little Pumpkin was dressed up in her cute little jean dress (with no tights!) and short sleeves for once. This was during her 20 minute nap this afternoon! :)
Anyway, only one more week until I have to go back to work... :( But lucky for us, Grandma Lumsden is coming to visit this weekend! :) That's all for now... I have to start getting up early tomorrow, so I'm going to go get ready for bed.
Oh - just thought I'd let you all know that Belle is now sleeping about 6 hours at a time at night. Friday night she slept from about 7:30 until 3am!!! It was AWESOME!!!! :) Oh yeah, and she's been sleeping in her crib since last Sunday and she's doing great in it! I think she likes it better - Dad's snoring doesn't wake her up anymore! :)

new pics
So, Nick and I have both been sick with a head cold for about a week and Wednesday, Belle was just really fussy and wouldn't sleep unless we were holding her, so we figured she was probably sick too. I gave her some tylenol Wednesday night and slept on the floor in her room (I've got a system down now and with about 10 blankets, it's really quite comfortable!) well, she still didn't sleep after the tylenol... she would sleep for about 15-20 minutes, then be crying again. So, I put her in her little bed thingy that goes in between you on the bed so that you don't roll over her and put her on the floor with me about 1:30 and she finally slept until about 2:15 and then I gave her some more tylenol and the little munchkin finally got some rest. She slept until about 7:00. So I called the doctor when we got up and we had an appointment for yesterday afternoon. Well, doc checked her all out and said she's a bit congested and he gave me some drops to put in her nose and she's been doing great since then! She's trying to catch up on her sleep I guess because she's been snoozing quite a bit today. Anyway, she has gained another pound in the last two weeks and is now 14 lbs 10 oz. They didn't take her length this time - they will do that at her 4 month appointment in March. Here are a couple pictures from yesterday after her appointment, looking like a little angel. :)
These ones are from today. This is the outfit from Grandma Lumsden from Christmas... thought you should all see the cute little lamb on the butt! :)This is also from today. She was looking at Elwood who kept trying to lick her face... Looks like she's trying to say "seriously dude... quit licking my face!" She's so darn cute! :) I can't wait for everyone to meet her! You can kiss her little cheeks all day long and she'll just smile at you and laugh! :) (except when she screams!!! haha!!)Well, I'm going to go do a little sewing until she wakes up for her nighttime feeding then I'm off to bed!

Baby in a Bumbo
Well, Isabelle is finally holding her head up enough that we thought we'd be safe to get her a Bumbo seat. We picked it up yesterday and today was the first time in it. She does pretty well in it and likes it (for a little while, then she gets fussy, as with most everything). Here is a picture in it this morning - she was about to fall back asleep, so she wasn't exactly holding herself up, but it's cute anyway. :)
Here are the pups snuggling together on the couch... they are so cute. :) It's a little blurry, but it's too cute. :)
Sleeping with mom in the chair... she says "please - no pictures!!" :)
That's it. Nothing else new to report!
